The World Heli Challenge 2014

The World Heli Challenge has a rich tradition drawing the top skiers and snowboarders from around the globe to be part of a unique helicopter-accessed freeride competition like no other. We’ve been challenging ourselves in the Southern Alps of New Zealand since back in 1995 and the passion and support for what we do is only growing.

2014 sees a exciting shake up for the event and opens up entry to the World Heli Challenge via an online video competition – the World Heli Challenge “Call Up”. If you’ve always wanted to be part of the World Heli Challenge this is the year to put yourself in the game. A big fat NZ$14,000 cash prize purse ups the ante PLUS  NZ$18,000 in prizes from iON Cameras, Canon, Syrp and Points North Heli Adventures.

It’s free to enter the “Call Up” and you and a mate can win your way into a 9-day World Heli Challenge complete with up to two days of heli-accessed riding, filming and plenty of adventure to keep you frothing – all based around Aoraki Mt Cook and Ohau from 7-15 September 2014.

The winning team of the World Heli Challenge share in NZ$10,000 cash and all competitors score an iON Air Pro 3 camera. The Runner Up Team share in NZ$4000 cash and also receive iON Air Pro 3 cameras.
