#7 May/June 1995

RIDER: Paul Trapski
LOCATION: Treble Cone
PHOTOGRAPHER: Tony Harrington

Paul Trapski nails the cover with a blind launch at Treble Cone. At 96 pages, the mag is growing… although it’s still only 60% colour, part of which is the Buyer’s Guide, which had previously been B&W. The photo gallery is called “Prime Cuts”, and has all the best slices from last winter, including shots of Chris Timmermans, Chris McKenzie, Rick Clairemont, Trapski, Quentin, Aaron Bolt, Dean’o, Tim Vlandis, Shane Stevens, Mark Sayers… and our first two merged sequences – Shaun McComb popping a TC rock, and Todd Richards spinning a back 7. “Contest Chaos” proves just how vibrant the NZ contest scene is, and Woolly sets new levels (which stands to this day) at the Ohau Cake Bake Off. “Fast Forward” showcases a young Steve Dunstan, Viki Course, and Lee Rowlands.
