As many already know, Stef Zeestraten is one of the countries to shredders. He’s better known for his double corks than his skills behind the lense but he has been good enough to share with us a rad little mini blog of words and shots he took while missioning around the high country after one of the biggest storms in memory.

A white NZ road blog, by Stef Zeestraten
“As half of the South Island of New Zealand came to a grinding halt, battered by a storm few stubborn old highland farmers had ever encountered I decided it would be a crime not to hit the road and see with my own two eyes what I had always dreamed, what this amazing country would look like if it had snow to the valley floors.
Armed with my semi trusty 1991 Toyota Hilux, I put four new tires on her and bought a set of chains. With absolutely no plans or expectations I loaded the truck with anything I could think we might need. Including my brother Tim Zeestraten and experienced split boarder Colin Boyd.
Off we went before the sun rose to an exceptional three day scenic tour of Canterbury as the the peaks and roads were covered in WHITE.”
