Night Fury- Behind the scenes

10/06/2014

The Night Fury project is a fictional based snowboard film, directed by Heath Patterson and supported by BURTON, REDBULL, SYRP AND RHYTHM SNOWBOARD SHOP.

In February 2014 we headed with a small crew to Niseko, Japan for a snow project with a twist. Snowboarders Nick Brown, Jake Koia and Connor Harding were all on board and after arriving in Tokyo we headed North to Sapporo to stock up on supplies. What supplies you ask? Well, namely a toboggan and a ladder but we got some other stuff too.

Our plan was to film the entire 3 week project at night using generators and 10 massive lights, fair to say that it wasn’t an easy task and there were some hairy moments out there. The film will launch on the 21st of June on Vimeo, in the mean time get involved with the build-up by tuning in for the up-coming Behind the Scenes episodes over the next 2 weeks.

remarksnewsmay2014New snow has loaded The Remarkables.Half a metre of snow fell at the ski area early this week, but luckily progress is still “on track” on the completion of the new  Curvy basin chairlift. The new high speed chairlift is part of a multi-million dollar investment for the ski area and will open up 20% more terrain and countless off-piste opportunities.Final load tests are scheduled to be carried out on June 5 before the new lift is officially “handed over” to NZSki on June 6, well before the ski area’s scheduled opening on June 21.
